Server Operations

This category will help you to better understand what all the features on the servers are used for and how they work.

How to Stop Those Annoying Sounds

Are you annoyed by those sounds? A lot of people tend to complain about the loud noises that come from the server and wish they would be a little quieter.

  1. Touch the server
  2. Select "Sound"
  3. Select "Sound Off"
  4. You hear that? That's the sound of a quiet server.

If you want to turn it back on it's kind of self explanatory. I don't think it requires a giant guide to help you.

How Server Channels Work

You're probably asking yourself what makes a channel private? There are two types of channels in the Nexus Grid-Wide Radio System. Private and Public.

  • A Main Channel is the main channel that every radio network has by default. These default channels are private and cannot be public. They are restricted to the network only.
  • A Private Channel is one that can only be accessed from inside that network, messages can be received from the radios within that network. The channels settings can also be changed from it.
  • A Public Channel is a channel that can be access to anyone that has the public channel key, they can be easily searched for. The difference between a public channel and private channel is the way the settings are accessed. Only the network managers can change the settings for that channel, if the public channel is deleted then anyone connected to that public network will get removed and all networks will no longer be connected.

Network Managers

Network Managers are users that can log-in to the network server and change features and edit network settings.

What kind of settings can network managers change?

  • They can bann people.
  • They can add / remove channels.
  • They can also configure radios into that network.

Why would you want a network manager? They are able to manage this when you are not there, change things, and remove the network from public networks when there is spam.

How to Add Managers

  1. Touch the Server
  2. Select "Managers".
  3. Select "Add Manager".
  4. Enter their username (case sensitive).

  2. Select "Managers".
  3. Select "Remove Manager".

  5. Poof that manager is gone.

Banning People From Your Network

Every where in the world you go there will be that one person that will like to spam, annoy, or just plain make everyone mad. How do we battle him and get rid of him? Do we continue to let him annoy the people? No! You ban him from using the object!

But what if they are on a public network? Well then their messages will not get transmitted to yours... Simple as that. If you did not create the Public Channel, then they can still transmit on that channel.

If they are wearing a radio in your network, then that will radio will be immediately turned off and it will no longer work. If they receive a new one then that radio will still not work either.

What if they are a manager? Well then you will need to remove them from the manager list. Don't worry a manager cannot ban an owner.

How to Ban Users From Networks

  1. Touch the Server
  2. Select "Ban List".
  3. Select "Add Ban".
  4. Enter the name of the User you would like to ban.
  5. Bam you're power hungry and that person is gone.

How to Un-Ban Users From Networks

Did you accidentally ban someone from a network? Or did you just change your mind about banning someone?

  1. Touch the Server
  2. Select "Ban List".
  3. Select "Remove Ban".
  4. Select the name of the person to remove from the ban list.
  5. Wow your friendship is back to normal and they can continue to use the radio!

Radio Operations

Having trouble using your radio? No problem, that's very normal! Follow our instructions and we will make sure you know how to use our guide and radio well enough to radio in an entire country!

First Run

When you first run your radio you are going to get a menu listing all the current channels in the network(public and private) that you can connect too. You can be connected to 2 channels including the main channel.

In order to continue and start using the radio for the first time you will need to select the secondary channel or channel B. Once this is done, type "/1 menu" or touch the radio to get the menu.

Basic Usage

Want to know how to use the radio properly?
There are three channels that are on the radio, Main Channel, Channel B, and Channel C.

In order to communicate to people under those channels simply type on the channels you specified. Don't know what channels you set? Access the main menu on the radio and look at the top message of the dialog and it will list the channels and the chat channels.

As an example i'm going to use /5 for the Main Channel.
Say i want to send a message on the Main channel i would simply type "/5 Hello". Then the message will get sent through the entire network to everyone.
What if i only want to send a message to anyone on Channel B (/6)?
Then i would simply type into my chat window "/6 Hello World!". Then everyone in the that same channel would get my message.

Main Menu

Want to know what the main menu buttons do? This will explain and show you how they all work and what they do. To get to the main menu simply click the radio or type "/1 menu" into chat.
At the top of your radio you can see the status of your radio that will display how well it can connect to the server and channel. Then it will display the channels and the names of them and then your call-sign below them.

  • Customize : This button currently does nothing but may have plans for the future.
  • Help : That gives you a help guide.
  • Reset : That will reset the radio and reconnect it to the servers.
  • Channel B : That will allow for you to select Channel B.

Radio Options

There are many options that you can use on the radio, each to better help you with your radio. These feature can be accessed by clicking your radio or typing "/1 menu" into chat and selecting Options.
