Creating a New Network

Server Placement

We highly suggest that you place the server in an area that meets the following criteria:
  • A location where the server can remain rezzed & running 100% of the time.
  • A location where you're permitted to rez objects. The server has a rezzing feature built-in that will automatically rez a distribution server underneath the main server when requested.
    • You should leave about 0.2100m of clearance underneath the server in case you do intend to setup a distribution server to prevent it from merging into another object.

Setting up Your Server

  1. Rez the "Nexus GridNet Server v1.0". (Remember it has to stay there for as long as you have the network.)
  2. Touch the server to begin registration & type the desired network name when prompted.
  3. Once submitting the network name, you'll receive a prompt to open the webpage. This will lead you to the GridNet Dashboard.
  4. Go to the webpage and enter a new password for your account. (Please note, all networks that you create will appear under this account.)
  5. Bam, your new network is created. Access the new network by clicking the small blue icon that appears in the upper-right hand corner of the network's box.

Creating Zones & Channels

To begin creating your first zone & channel, you will need to navigate to the "Zone Editor" page.
  1. Select "Add Zone" and enter the desired zone name.
  2. Once your zone has been created, you can select "Add Channel" from within the zone and enter the desired channel name.
  3. Now that you have created your first zone and channel, you can now proceed to configure a radio!

Configuring a Radio

STOP & READ - If you haven't created a zone & channel yet, please go back and follow the previous step before proceeding.
Located in the "GridNet Radio System" folder are 15+ radio models to choose from. Go ahead and determine which radio model you'd like to configure to your network!
Once you have chosen a radio model that you'd like to configure, rez the radio next to the server.
  1. Touch the server you want to configure the radio to.
  2. Touch the radio to begin configuring.
  3. Select the zone you would like to configure the radio to when prompted.
  4. Set the radio next-owner permissions to 'No Transfer'.
  5. Take the radio back into your inventory when it asks what channel to use.
  6. You can now freely distribute the radio.
