Server Operations

This category will help you to better understand what all the features on the servers are used for and how they work.

How Server Channels Work

You're probably asking yourself what makes a channel private? There are two types of channels in the Nexus Gridwide Radio System. Private and Public.
A Main Channel is the main channel that every radio network has by default. These default channels are private and cannot be public. They are restricted to the network only.
A Private Channel is one that can only be accessed from inside that network, messages can be received from the radios within that network. The channels settings can also be changed from it.
A Public Channel is a channel that can be access to anyone that has the public channel key, they can be easily searched for. The difference between a public channel and private channel is the way the settings are accessed. Only the network managers can change the settings for that channel, if the public channel is deleted then anyone connected to that public network will get removed and all networks will no longer be connected.

Network Managers

Network Managers are users that can log-in to the network server and change features and edit network settings.
What kind of settings can network managers change?
  • They can bann people.
  • They can add / remove channels.
  • They can also configure radios into that network.
Why would you want a network manager?
They are able to manage this when you are not there, change things, and remove the network from public networks when there is spam.

How to Add Managers

  1. Touch the Server
  2. Select "Managers".
  3. Select "Add Manager".
  4. Enter their username (case sensitive).
  5. Bam their added... >.>

How to Remove Managers

  1. Touch the Server
  2. Select "Managers".

  5. Poof that manager is gone.

Banning People From Your Network

Every where in the world you go there will be that one person that will like to spam, annoy, or just plain make everyone mad. How do we battle him and get rid of him? Do we continue to let him annoy the people? No! You ban him from using the object!
But what if they are on a public network? Well then their messages will not get transmitted to yours... Simple as that. If you did not create the Public Channel, then they can still transmit on that channel.
If they are wearing a radio in your network, then that will radio will be immediately turned off and it will no longer work. If they receive a new one then that radio will still not work either.
What if they are a manager? Well then you will need to remove them from the manager list. Don't worry a manager cannot ban an owner.

How to Ban Users From Networks

  1. Touch the Server
  2. Select "Ban List".
  3. Select "Add Ban".
  4. Enter the name of the User you would like to ban.
  5. Bam you're power hungry and that person is gone.

How to Un-Ban Users From Networks

  1. Touch the Server
  2. Select "Ban List".
  3. Select "Remove Ban".
  4. Select the name of the person to remove from the ban list.
  5. Wow your friendship is back to normal and they can continue to use the radio!
